Aircraft Distribution & V-N Diagram with Gust Diamond

Wrote a MATLAB program that reads in the geometric, aerodynamic, and performance definition of an aircraft. It showcases the lift, drag, moment, wing weight, normal force, and chordwise force distribution as well as a V-N diagram and a Gust Diamond.

Investigated the margin of safety with the given stress state. Calculated the three principal stresses (σp1, σp2, σp3) as well as the maximum shear stress. Plotted the corresponding three-dimensional Mohr’s circles. Determined the margin of safety using the three stress-based failure theories (Tresca, Rankine, von Mises). Calculated the three-dimensional stress state at failure (MS = 0) by scaling the initial stress state.
